Today, I’ve been married to Andy for nearly a third of my life!

And I’m sharing this celebration and my gratitude with you because frankly I don’t think Mine Your Resources or the Bottom-line Bookclub would exist if it weren’t for Andy and all the support, encouragement, faith, courage and coaching Andy has given me over the past 12 years we’ve been together.

Andy, thank you so much for:

  • Not expecting me to be “the woman you married” for the rest of my life. Thank you for loving all the woman I’ve evolved into over the past 10 years and for always encouraging my growth, even when it takes us unexpected places.
  • Supporting me to do work I love, even when at times it’s meant that you carried our financial burdens by doing work you didn’t totally love.
  • Challenging me (and supporting me) to face many of my fears.
  • Trusting me to grow and change and live at my own pace and in my own time and in my own direction, and giving me the evidence over the past 10 years to prove that this spaciousness in our relationship is safe and you’ll still be there.
  • Teaching me how to have a bigger vision and dream up big, crazy possibilities – you’re so good at that.
  • Being a learning partner in life, helping me raise questions, being enthusiastic about investing in opportunities for us both to learn, challenging me to go places I haven’t gone before, adventuring with me and encouraging me to keep expanding myself.
  • Not expecting me to squeeze myself into the stereotypical role of a “good wife” and not minding that I’m so rubbish at cooking and feeding us and keeping house… especially when I’m all focused on my work.
  • Having an unshakable faith in me, and in us, and in the fact that everything will all be fine now and in the end, especially when I can be such a worry-pot!

And there’s so much more that I’m grateful for in you, Andy, and what we’ve had together, but the rest is just between us…

Andy, here’s to the next 10 years of adventuring, learning, loving and expanding our lives together.

    Hi Cath

Just saw your tweet about your 10th Wedding Anniversary. What a wonderful dedication to Andy, and I wish you the happiest of anniversaries with many more to come! And how special you’ll both be working together on the I Give a Damn building project later this month – kind of a fitting testament putting all that great energy you share into something so deserving – it can only be a great success.

All the very best and have a lovely day

  7. Happy Anniversary! I think it is wonderful that you two have been able to experience growth and freedom in your relationship… I think that equilibrium is what most people are striving for, or trying to find. It is inspiring to know that you’ve found that someone and that it is working so well! Very cute picture & great post :)
