I just wanted to give you a quick heads-up on an upcoming change with my shoppingcart that most of you will be very happy about. Some of you have been bugging me to sort this out for ages!

Here’s the Twitter summary:

I’m switching my shopping cart over to USD and increasing the Bottom-line Bookclub prices. To give you a chance to get in before the prices go up, for 48hrs after I’ve switched my cart to USD, you’ll be able to get the Bottom-lines at their current rate in USD. After that the Bottom-line Bookclub will go up by 50%. All members registered before 8 June will retain the lower rate even after the monthly subs go up for everyone else.

Here’s why…

When I first took my business online, I was living in London and so I registered my business, bank account and payment gateway in GBP. I didn’t know that most of the internet lives in America and, as a South African who was used to always making online payments in foreign currencies, I didn’t realize that most Americans are used to making online payments in USD and a lot are put off by the idea of being charged in foreign currencies. I’ve had a lot of requests from Americans and Canadians for me to charge in USD, the greater proportion of my newsletter readers are based in America, and most of the rest of the world is familiar with being charged in USD, so I think it makes sense for me to swap over to USD and cater for the majority of my readers.

What this means for you:

There are no additional charges for making payments online in USD if you’re using a GBP or other currency credit card. For Bottom-line Bookclub Members, I’ve posted about how this change will happen with the monthly subs on the BLBC blog, in case you missed my recent email.

Dates for the switch to USD (& a price increase at the Bottom-line Bookclub)

If all goes well, I’ll make the switch on 4 June. After I switch over to USD, for a weekend + 48hrs, the Bottom-line Bookclub prices will still be available at their current rates, in USD. After that, on 8 June at 5pm MST, I’ll be increasing the Bottom-line Bookclub by about 50% (full details here). My coaching prices are staying the same but will also be available in USD from 4 June.

Thanks for your understanding and patience with this and, as always, thank you for your support. I’m just busy tying up the details on the Bottom-line on Invictus, ready for its release on 1 June. I can’t wait to share this one – it’s my favorite so far and there are some really great leadership lessons in there from Nelson Mandela’s wonderful example on leading South Africa through a peaceful transition to democracy.
